Our Saturday

The North Glendale float took 3rd Place

We took the kids to the Greentree Festival Parade in Kirkwood yesterday. It was your typical parade - a few bands, police cars, fire trucks, and politicians (including our neighbor), but it was a fun activity. Last year, Emily rode on the North Glendale student council float, and Adam and I walked the parade (the local schools typically have big contingents of parents and students who walk behind their float). Amy was out of town for the weekend, and missed last year's fun.

Emily was happy because we sat by her "BFF", Madison and her family. Adam was happy to see the firetrucks, but seemed most excited by the police motorcycles who came by with lights and sirens, circled around, and then went fast by us again.

After a sorry attempt at a naptime for Adam, we went down to the Soulard area of St. Louis to meet up with a photographer from Glendale whose services we won at a charity auction. (If anyone local is looking for a good photog, check out Jodie Allen at http://www.jodified.typepad.com/ - we haven't seen the pictures yet, but I have no doubt they will be great!). Jodie was wonderful - Adam was being a stinker, and she rolled with it, even managing to get him to participate for about 10 of 500 pictures - not a bad rate, if you know Adam.

Adam's ready to show off the candy-gathering skills honed on the 4th of July with Becky and Jon

The Kirkwood High School Marching Band - not bad, but they're no Prospect Knights!
