Costa Rican Adventure!

New baby!

We have a new baby in the Kreidler family! Paul's brother Bill and his wife Gina welcomed Evan Michael at 1:29 PM this afternoon. He weighed in at 8 lb, 2 oz and 20.5 inches long. Mom and baby are doing well following her C-section. Check out The Indiana Kreidlers blog later this pm for pictures of the new cousin meeting his big brothers!

Spring Break - Day 4!

Today Emily experienced Adam's story time at our local library branch. I didn't take any pictures though. At the end of every story time, the children watch a short movie and today's movie was about Chicken Little. All afternoon Adam has been telling us the sky is falling!

When we came home afterwards, Grandpa and Grandma were here! We took them out for an elegant lunch at Sams Club!

Spring Break - Day 3

On the agenda for Day 3 of Em's Spring Break: THE ZOO! Emily's friend Isabel joined us on our St. Louis Zoo adventure. We only did about half of it due to time and a tired 3 year old, but we have a fun time! We rode the train (twice) and the carosel (twice also!). Adam's favorite was the hippo, Em's - the elephant, and Isabel's - the penguins. I personally liked the Gorillas! You'll see why when you look at the video below!

Gorilla Best Friends! The docent said this "behavior" started a year ago probably out a boredom, but is now done out of habit. She also said that these two gorillas are BFFs! (Best Friends Forever!)

Spring Break - Day 2!

Yesterday we had a realtively quiet day compared to Monday. Emily had a doctor appointment in the morning and then we spent lunch time at McDonalds so Adam could run off some energy before nap. I guess it worked as my 3 year old slept for FOUR hours! Emily went to a friends house for the afternoon so I could get some work done around the house in preparation for our vacation (thanks Marissa and Isabel!).

Spring Break - Day 1!

I know that Em's break actually started last Thursday but since we were in Illinois closing on our house and my mom was here, Spring Break officially started (at least in my head!) today.

Adam, Em and I went to the St. Louis Science Center today for awhile. While there, we visited the Discovery Room, the IMAX movie theatre, the overpass over I-64, the dinosaurs, and the space section!

Adam and Emily both enjoyed their first IMAX experience. We saw Sea Monsters, a movie that features a dolichorynchops (familiarly known as a 'dolly') as she travels through life's stages. The movie shows the "dolly's" experiences with long-necked pleisosaurs, giant turtles, enormous fish, ferocious flippered crocs, fierce sharks, and the mosasaurs. We also saw some dinosaurs (including a T-Rex)which you know Adam loved! Both kids were a little freaked out at first by the sound and movie because it was very loud and LARGE!

Something I thought was interesting was a scale that computed how expensive it would be to send you to space based on your weight. I'll post those pics and you can see how expensive it would be to send us 3 Kreidlers to space!

Now, I only have to figure out the rest of the week!!! Adam's already talking about the Zoo!

Hello Springfield Friends!

Paul and I, while in Springfield yesterday, visited old work friends. Many of Paul's DCEO coworkers said they enjoy visiting our blog to keep up with us. A big shout out to Brooke and Carmel! Sorry I didn't get to see you guys yesterday! And, Melena, did you look at the blog yet???

High School Musical On Ice

I can't finish blogging today until I blog about HSM on Ice! Last weekend Emily and Mom met a bunch of Springfield friends at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis to see HSM on Ice. The show was great as it included both HSM I and II. We had fun seeing all our friends from Illinois.

Pre School Treat!

Adam had a real treat this past week as Ninny Cindy, being a "retired" preschool teacher, went to Adam's class and read some Easter stories and helped the class sing some songs.

Emily's Birthday Cake...

Since Ninny Cindy arrived in St. Louis 2 days after Emily's birthday, we waited to eat Emily's chocolate cake! Emily wanted to eat it with no fork, so she put her face down to eat it and somehow Mom's hand slipped and pushed Emily's face into the cake! As you can tell, Emily had so much fun eating her cake this year!

Friends 2 B Made

To make Emily's first birthday in St. Louis memorable, we surprised her (and her friend Madison) with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and a trip to "Friends 2 B Made" where you can make your own dolls. (The store, I think, is owned by the same company that runs Build a Bear.) Each girl got to make a doll and pick out an outfit and a pet. The girls had a great time!
