Parties on the Plaza

Last year, Paul interviewed with St. Louis County on Thursday, June 14th. He dropped the kids and me off at Kirkwood's Magic House (A very cool children's museum). After he picked us up, we drove up Kirkwood Road to go to the Cheesecake Factory at the Galleria. We passed a really neat square where people were hanging out, eating, drinking, and listening to live music. We both commented on the neat atmosphere/idea. Little did we know that just one year later, we'd be at that very square listening to music!

Every summer Thursday night in Kirkwood, local bands play at "Parties on the Plaza". People sit outside at the local restaurants, eat and listen to music. Some people, we noticed last night, actually bring their own beverages and food in coolers! It would be fun to do that but we'd be chasing Adam around all night and since it is so close to Kirkwood Road (aka Lindbergh or HWY 61/67) that's not a good idea!

Last night, we went to the square after dinner and got the kids (and me too!) Ben and Jerry's ice cream and sat by the fountain for a bit listening to music. The night was beautiful and the weather was certainly better than it has been this afternoon/early evening (severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings)!

For Jeff/Shawn - see the Bar Louie??? Enjoying ice cream! (Sorbet for Adam!)
