Ft. Lauderdale, Day 1

We've arrived at that crazy, non-stop, alcohol-fueled party known as the Government Finance Officers Association. Okay, it's as exciting as it sounds. We left this morning for Ft. Lauderdale only to find our flight delayed. Not to worry - there are 2 unused gates at the end of the Southwest terminal in St. Louis, and Adam ran, and ran, and ran, and ran some more. He was a sweaty mess by the time we were ready to go. I figured for sure that he'd crash on the plane (maybe those 2 words shouldn't be used together?), but he held out until we got to our hotel.

I took Em to the pool for a while when Adam (and Mommy) were napping, and then we went to dinner at a place recommended by former FLL resident, Aunt Shawn. Dinner was great, we walked up A1A for a few minutes, and then headed back to the hotel.

Adam has been asking to swim in the ocean for months now, so we let him go crazy for about a half hour before a quick dip in the pool and a bath. He's enjoying a snack and some cartoons now before bed.

Tomorrow is an all-day seminar for me, and hopefully a stress-free day for Amy.

By the way, for those of you who were concerned, I have notified Amy that I have renewed her contract for another 10 years. (today is our 10-year anniversary).

Here are some pictures from the day...

Em's hairdo is perfect for the beach. Beba and Jon say Hi, too.
