I've listened to it all year long from true Cubs fans and poser Cubs fans alike. We're so great. This is our year. Quit talking about the World Series - it was 2 season ago. Blah blah blah.
Congratulations, Cubs. You were the champion of the worst division in all of baseball this year with a .525 winning percentage. You and your fans were so cocky and confident that you would march deep into the playoffs. What do you have to show for it? Nothing. Another embarassing playoff run for the Cubs.
This is what happens when people go to the Wrigley Beer Garden every day to get drunk and maybe watch a bit of the game - your team gets richer and richer with no reason to put a winning product on the field.
So drink it up north siders - all you people who root for the Cubs just because it's the "thing to do" - you got what you wanted.
One last benefit of the Cubs being swept? Rod Blagojevich, perhaps the worst Governor Illinois has ever seen, is a Cubs fan.

Hey! Now that all this baseball nonsense is over... Are y'all coming to my Dad's shindig on the 28th?
No, we aren't going to be able to make it. It's on a Sunday afternoon, so we would have a 5-6 hour drive back to St. Louis after the party followed by school the next day.
Blah blah blah....like I said, we are just waiting for our 100 year anniversary :-} Go Bears, how about beating those Packers! And can I say...GO ILLINI!!!!
