Emily's Biography Project

Emily's class had to pick a historical figure, research that person, and deliver an oral and written report about the person's life. Emily got to read hers at her class' language arts night this past week.

This was a great project for the class. The kids had to work very hard to do their research and writing, and after a week and a half of work Emily was very proud of herself for what she had accomplished. She was also very nervous about reading her biography in front of her entire class during the day, and her entire class and a standing room full of parents that evening.

A big thanks goes to Ninny Kathy for making the costume!

Here's what I liked most about the presentation:

1. Emily spoke slowly, clearly, and loud enough to be heard easily. The information was interesting.

2.Emily must have practiced a lot, because she didn't hesitate by saying,"you know" or "um" all the time,

3. Emily actually made and showed us what a corn doll looks like.

4. She gave us an idea of how Laura might have looked.
