Great Midwest Road Trip Day 5!

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!!

We spent the day at Joe and Lucie's house. It was so much fun. We're looking forward to seeing the Mount Prospect Kreidlers when they stop by STL at the end of their July vacation! While at Joe and Lucie's house, we walked down the block to watch the parade. Both Jess and Jon were in the parade which made watching the parade all the more fun!

Great Midwest Road Trip Day 4!

On the 3rd, the St. Louis Kreidlers (Daddy included since he flew in the night before!) took our annual summer trip to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. It was VERY windy and cold that morning, but the sun was out! This was the 4th year in a row that we've gone to the Dunes in the beginning of July and it was the coldest yet!

Even though it was cold, we all had a good time. The kids had a blast playing in the sand and running up and down the dunes. I dare say, by the looks of it, Daddy had a blast too!

Maybe next year the weather will actually be above 65 degrees???

Great Midwest Road Trip Day 3!

After leaving Lafayette on Wednesday, we stopped at Fair Oaks Farm to learn how a dairy farm is operated. Lisa, Emily and I probably thought this was more interesting than the boys and Aubrey, but as you can see from the pictures, a good time was had by all!
Eating anothe picnic lunch!

Learning about milking cows.
Seeing the actual milking process in action!
Look at Lisa's vertical!
That night, Emily, Adam and I had dinner with Uncle Jeff before Jeff and I both did a bit of grocery shopping. Here is one picture from the store. Do you think he threw the cucumber???
Yes, he did throw it!

Great Midwest Road Trip Day 2!

Lisa and I took Emily, Adam and Nathan to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. If you haven't been there, and are spending any time in Indy, it is a must see with kids!

Can you guess what exhibit Adam liked best???

Great Midwest Road Trip - Day 1

Day 1 consisted of me (Amy) driving from St. Louis to Lafayette, Indiana to visit my life-long best friend Lisa, her husband Jeff, and their two kids - Nathan and Aubrey.

I gave Emily a choice the night before we left - McDonalds on the road or stop and have a picnic at a rest stop. She chose the picnic. (I was a little bummed as I was actually looking forward to a Micky D's burger!!!) Thanks to the State of Illinois for maintaining the rest stop we ate at. It was clean and had a decent play area!

What a beautiful day!
