Better Late Than Never!

Some Christmas morning Pictures! Enjoy!

Checking to see if Santa's reindeers ate all their carrots and drank their water!

Our New Friend Emmy...

We have a new friend on our street. Her name is Emmy. She's 3 1/2 months old and very sweet. Our Emmy loves to play with the other Emmy. Adam also likes to play with Emmy. He and Emmy run circles around each other.

Here is a pic of the two Emmy's with Adam.

Roller Skating in January!

St. Louis experienced record-breaking temperatures the last few days. We took advantage of the weather and spent time outside playing and socializing with neighbors! Sunday St. Louis broke a 100 year old weather record as it hit 73 degrees! Emily tried out her new roller skates from Santa and Hailey (the neighbor) came over with her skates as well. This meant that Anna and Adam (the little sister and brother) also wanted to skate, so our neighbor went back home and grabbed some skates for the little kids. Adam LOVED it and didn't mind his pink skates. Anna wasn't crazy about skating and preferred to ride on Adam's big wheel. Today is warm again, but the kids (both of them!) are at school and we're supposed to get some rain later on.

Christmas Dance

Emily has been challenged this fall in her new dance school. In her old school, the focus was mainly on ballet, which Emily enjoys and it seems to come naturally to her. In this school, they are studying ballet, tap, and jazz. Emily enjoys all the subjects, but finds tap challenging. Some of the girls in her class are older and have been dancing longer, but she's working hard to learn her steps and keep up.

The class did a brief Christmas performance for us just before break.

This performance is brought to you by Excedrin - the Headache Medicine. You'll soon understand why!

New Year's Eve Wii Tournament

We had a bowling tournament on the Wii after Adam went to bed last night. Dad was the winner with a high score of 253 with Emily coming in second after beating Mom.

After the game, Emily said, "I'm ready to whip Uncle Jeff next." That should be easy, seeing that Uncle Jeff hasn't figured out how to hook his up yet! Here's some video of Emily getting a strike and taunting her mother.

Play 13 (lose 6)

Last night's 49-33 domination of the Hoosiers by Oklahoma State invoked painful memories for me. The year was 1993. I was back in Bloomington after Christmas pulling night shifts at WFIU. Because Indiana was playing Virginia Tech in the Independence Bowl (their last bowl appearance until yesterday, I might add), I finished work up 5:30AM and headed home in Mom's little white Civic to the region to watch the game. First quarter went great with Thomas Lewis scoring on a 75-yard touchdown pass. The problem came in the final 23 seconds of the half when Virgina Tech scored twice and went on to thrash the Hoosiers 45-20.

Last night was more of the same. Left work at 5:00 PM, rushed to the grocery store, and then went home to watch the trouncing on the DVR after dinner.

Oh well - the #11 ranked Hoosiers play Iowa at 7:00 on Wednesday. Maybe that result will be different.
