Go! St. Louis Half Marathon

The Go! St. Louis half marathon is in the books. It rained the ENTIRE time. Amy set a new personal record! I missed mine, but was satisfied with my race. We also we happy to have Jeff and Shawn running with us!

We were followed by a photographer from USA Today who took pictures for our upcoming article (May 18) - we got a lot of stares from people in the starting chute as he was snapping away.

Easter 2009 Recap

For us, Easter is usually a bummer of a holiday because it is impractical to go home (NW Indiana) for an event that takes place on a Sunday. So, we try to make it fun here. The Easter Bunny did a great job hiding the eggs this year - I think the last one wasn't located until late this afternoon (in Emily's shoe).

Official Race Photo

Our official Lincoln Memorial photo came in today. Abe looks pretty good for 200. Actually, he looks even better in my friend's picture below, entitled "drinkin' with Lincoln" (taken later on race day).

My Left Foot -

No, it wasn't a blister. I trained too well and wear the appropriate socks with my running shoes to get blisters!

I cut my 3rd toe on the 4th toe's nail. Seriously, the cut is probably about 1 mm, so not big at all. Doesn't hurt.

It started hurting about 3 miles into 13.1. By mile 6, all pain was gone. At mile 12, I thought someone spilled red Gatorade on my shoe. Mile 12.5 - I figured out it was blood and that my foot felt sticky!

So there it is, the mystery of the bloody sock is solved!
