Bears Win!

Joe, John, and Becky made the trip down from Mt. Prospect this weekend. We hung out Saturday afternoon, and Joe, John, Amy and I went to the Bears vs. Rams game today.

I knew there would be a big Bears crowd at the game, but I was surprised at how lopsided the fans were in support of the Bears. The crowd sounded like a home game, and a LOUD chorus of Bear Down broke out on the concourse after the game.

The first quarter was exciting, but by the end of the quarter the Rams were done, and the rest of the game was pretty boring. Some pictures from the game...

We all wondered what Lucie and Jess were doing back at home. We figured they were both talking so much that an episode of Yo Gabba broke out!

St. Louis County Tree Lighting

We spent a VERY cold night in Clayton at the County's tree lighting. We didn't wait in line to see Santa after the kids and Paul rode on the horse drawn carriage. Instead, we went to dinner at Wasabi! The hot Miso Soup was just the ticket since we were freezing! We'll catch Santa in a few weeks at the Kirkwood train station.

Dad and his COLD kids!

Mom and the offspring.

The kids with Charlie Dooley. Emily asked who he was and I told him that he was "Dad's BIG boss!" He's the County Executive.

Em waving to the Big Man.

Adam's sort of unsure about Frosty!

Stewy

Last week, Adam temporarily renamed himself Stewy. Don't know why, but it was pretty funny!

Trip to Ronald McDonald House

Last week, Emily's Brownie troop visited the St. Louis Ronald McDonald House near Children's Hospital to learn more about what they do for whose children are in either Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital or St. Louis Children's Hospital.

In addition to visiting and learning more, the girls brought the residents of the Ronald McDonald House fresh baked goods to snack on.

Painted Zebra!

At Emily's Fall Fun Fair, Emily won a trip to the local paint your own pottery place with her Art Teacher, Megan Boyer. Yesterday I dropped Emily and her BFF Madison off at the Painted Zebra where Ms. Boyer met the girls. Emily LOVES Ms. Boyer so it made the trip much more special! Ms. Boyer was the first teacher Emily ever met at North Glendale after we moved here. Em and Paul went over to school to meet the principal and on that HOT August day, she was one of the few teachers already setting up their classrooms. Ms. Boyer will probably always have a special piece of Emily's heart!

Turkey Trot!

Today Emily's school had its annual Turkey Trot. This year, because Emily is a 3rd grader, she was able to run off campus through the neighborhood. "LOOKIN' GOOD Emily!!!"

October Glory Red Maple

When we moved to this house, the two front yard trees were taken out because construction destroyed the trees. So, last fall we headed to a local nursery to pick out a new tree. We looked at trees before the trees were in full color and hoped for the best. As you can see below, our tree, while still small, had outstanding color! Good choice Kreidlers!

Sword Fighters!

I'm enjoying a day off today. Mommy's out getting a facial, so Adam and I are engaged in a great struggle for rule of the kingdom!

This explains it ALL!

Happy Birthday Brian

I couldn't decide which was more degrading to Brian. This picture with the bunny ears, or a picture of him wearing an Illini shirt. It's a toss-up.

Vote!

BIG day today. Good luck to all the candiates, especially our neighbor, Eric Schmitt, who is running for State Senate for our district! Paul voted this morning and at 5:50 am the line in our small town wrapped around City Hall! He went running and then went back and stood in line.

It should be an interesting night!

P.S. Thanks for Jodie Allen of j.allen photography + jodified designs for the graphic!

Picnic at the Park

We went to Sioux Passage Park today (one of the many fine facilities of St. Louis County) to check out the last of the fall colors. We brought a picnic lunch with us and hiked on a trail. As is normally expected, a mosquito bit Amy on the face and left a nice mark.

Last year, we went hiking on a dried portion of the riverbed (Missouri River), however the water level was too high for that this year.

After our hike, the kids played a bit on the playground, I took a few pictures of safety hazards that I reported to our Parks Department (Risk Management is a 24 hour job, people), and we headed back home. I'm not sure that we'll have weather like this much longer.
