Yes!

Chicago White Sox - 2008 American League Central Champions!

Us

I don't think either of us were really fans of having our picture taken over the past few years. Now, I don't think either of us mind seeing ourselves. This is one of my favorite pictures taken during a family photo shoot a few weeks ago. It reminds me of the photo below:

St. Michael's Day Dash

Today was the first annual St. Michael's Day Dash in Kirkwood benefitting Backstoppers. They had over 800 runners, which I thought was good for the first year. They had some activities for the kids while the race was ongoing, and it was a good course with a few challenging hills, and lots of small rollers.

The only bad thing was that these little guys beat me!! They were awesome.

One last post of Adam

Napping seems to be the thing of the past for Adam. He's trying REALLY hard to give up this wonderful habit. Some days are better than others and he's able to go until 8pm with no nap and yet exhibit a wonderful attitude. Other days, he's a total bear, but still makes it to 8 pm. However, on some special days, the nap gets the best of him!

I was upstairs getting ready to go out for dinner with Paul and the kids. Emily was sitting on our bed reading. We thought Adam was downstairs watching TV but discovered that he couldn't take it anymore that day and just had to catch a cat nap before dinner. I'm happy to report that he was very pleasant at dinner and well behaved. He also went to bed without issue!

Not to be left out...

Heeeerrrrreeeeee'ssssss Emily!

A quick picture of my girl enjoying her chocolate cake the other night at Revival! I highly recommend eating there and definately getting dessert! YUM!

Daddy and his best girl!

Congrats Paul!

Today Paul hit his goal weight officially losing 115 pounds! Here's a picture of Paul with his new leather coat he received for Christmas last year. Think we need to go shopping and find him another new coat?
Way to go Paul. I'm so very proud of you and your hard work!

Almost there....

Here's a picture of the kitchen. It's almost completely finished and will post more then, but here's a sneak peak! (I posted this a few days ago, but the post was accidently deleted.) What I've learned about painting - I CAN paint and I do a pretty good job! If you have Facebook, you might already know that we were NOT happy with the job our painter did on the kitchen so I sent about 16 hours this weekend slowly painting and fixing her mistakes. I did learn that painting above the cabinets when there's only about 8 inches of space is very difficult! Paul's goign to have to help me with that one later this week!

What we did...

While this was going on....

This is what Adam and I did!

We cleaned the garage - or at least tried to! However, I didn't get a chance to finish, so thanks Paul for pulling my slack and finishing our clean up job today! The garage looks great!!

Adam's First Day of Preschool

Adam started the Juniors class at preschool on September 9th. He'll be going two times a week for about 3 hours each day. His teachers are Mrs. Moulder (the preschool director) and Mrs. Johns (an IU fan!). His first weeks as a Junior have been great and we have no doubt, that after next year, he'll be very prepared for kindergarten!

Adam and his friend after the first day! Smiles all around!!

A class project - the kids made "noculars" (as Adam says) out of toilet paper tubes!

Adam's Baby Belly!

Adam wanted a baby in his belly this week! Looks like his baby was ready to come out!

Aunt Lucie

A benefit to living in a larger city is that we often see family members whose work brings them to St. Louis. Add Aunt Lucie to the list of relatives that we've seen in The Lou due to business! Lucie was in town working the Ace Hardware Housewares Show at the Convention Center downtown for Interdesign. She procured our family passes and we headed downtown Friday afternoon to see her and her parents, Pauline and Charlie. Today Em and I headed back downtown to see them once more and we actually were lucky enough to take Lucie to the airport! We'll see you soon Aunt Lucie! Thanks for letting us come visit you "at work"! Up this week: maybe Aunt Shawn???
Lucie workin' it!

Photo Preview

We were excited when we got home from the football game today to see that Jodie sent us some preview pictures from yesterday. We can't wait to see the rest in a few weeks!

Giants vs. Rams

Today was the first NFL game for Emily and Adam - we went to see the Giants play the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome. We had to buy these tickets in order to purchase Bears vs. Rams tickets for November. I tried to sell these, but couldn't get any takers because the Rams are so pathetic.

At least we got to see a Chris Long sack, and former Indiana standout Victor Adeyanju recorded a sack as well. We'll never forget the goofball who sat next to us the year we had IU season tickets when Adam was an infant - every good play on defense, he'd yell "...VICTOR!". I gave up trying to tell him that Victor wasn't involved in most of those plays...

Em and Dad. (the hats were freebies, no way I'd spend money on Rams gear!)

An Adam Archuletta jersey? Are you kidding me? As a Bears fan, I should have dumped my drink on this lady because he was so bad for the Bears last year!

Adam liked the hotdogs!

Emily liked the nachos!

The Adventure to the Dome

Sounds like the title to a movie, doesn't it? The trip to the train station to head downtown today took 45 minutes, as opposed to the 15 minutes it normally takes. Our normal route was flooded, as you can see below. We tried a few alternates which also ended up flooded (thanks, Ike). We finally managed to get to the train at about 11:30, and then of course it took a good 20+ minutes for the train to actually get there (thanks METRO - now you know why people don't want to support your sales tax increase!).

Of course when the train got there it was packed, and nobody would give their seat up for Amy and Adam, so we all subway-surfed down to the Jones dome. We made it to our seats just after the Giants first touchdown, and stayed through the 3rd quarter. I think everyone enjoyed the trip, and better yet, we found that we actually have decent seats for the Bears game in November. Hopefully we'll see Devin Hester run back a kickoff or punt from our endzone view.

Ant Farm!

One of our neighbors gave Adam an ant farm. Was this a good idea? So far so good.

Adam's in the other room calling the ants "stinky butt man" and "stinky head."

Our Saturday

The North Glendale float took 3rd Place

We took the kids to the Greentree Festival Parade in Kirkwood yesterday. It was your typical parade - a few bands, police cars, fire trucks, and politicians (including our neighbor), but it was a fun activity. Last year, Emily rode on the North Glendale student council float, and Adam and I walked the parade (the local schools typically have big contingents of parents and students who walk behind their float). Amy was out of town for the weekend, and missed last year's fun.

Emily was happy because we sat by her "BFF", Madison and her family. Adam was happy to see the firetrucks, but seemed most excited by the police motorcycles who came by with lights and sirens, circled around, and then went fast by us again.

After a sorry attempt at a naptime for Adam, we went down to the Soulard area of St. Louis to meet up with a photographer from Glendale whose services we won at a charity auction. (If anyone local is looking for a good photog, check out Jodie Allen at http://www.jodified.typepad.com/ - we haven't seen the pictures yet, but I have no doubt they will be great!). Jodie was wonderful - Adam was being a stinker, and she rolled with it, even managing to get him to participate for about 10 of 500 pictures - not a bad rate, if you know Adam.
